This poem is the first in a series of three poems.

A mood, a form, a colour, a theme

Lingering, settling – unsettling you

You look up to the sky

And that is blue too

Why do they make blue such a sad colour if it’s everywhere?

Are we sad everywhere-

As an enveloping whole;

As liberation, indulgence and escape

Blue is calm

You stop, sit down, lie down, stay down

Calm. Too calm;

As the day shifts to darker

Almost not blue anymore

But you’re still you

So why blame blue?
