Empty Stations

Empty stations, beating hearts

City lights, drizzle starts

Whispered frantic- in a drenching sight

“Tonight no sleeping, under the moonlight”

Empty stations, huddled crowd

At 3 a.m. bickering loud

Home, for the night till another storm;

Empty stations keep you warm

Tattered blankets, sleepy haze

Empty stations, drowsy gaze

No one around, setting the bed

Clustered minds, resting the head

Empty stations have patchy ragdolls and broken GI Joes

Clutching patchy ragdolls and broken GI Joes

Night after night, lightning strikes and wind blows

But come morning crowd, no one knows

Empty station, footsteps resound

Cops come to clear the litter they found

Empty stations see screams and sticks

Be careful with the station picks

“Tonight no sleeping, wait for the new day to start”

Empty stations, empty hearts
